Find Silk Browser on your Fire TV home screen

Silk Browser comes pre-installed on every Fire TV. Use your remote to navigate to it — it's usually in the app row or under "Your Apps & Channels."

💡Can't find Silk? Press the Home button → scroll right to "Your Apps & Channels" → find Silk Browser.

Open Silk Browser and go to displayee.online/tv

Use the on-screen keyboard to type the URL. A screen will appear showing a large 6-digit pairing code — this is unique to your TV.

💡The code expires in 15 minutes. If it expires, just refresh the page to get a new one.

In your Displayee dashboard, go to Screens → Pair New Screen

Log in at displayee.online/login on your phone or computer. Click "Screens" in the sidebar, then click the purple "Pair New Screen" button.

Enter the 6-digit code shown on your TV

Type the 6-digit code from the TV into the pairing modal. Click "Pair Screen." The TV will automatically switch from the code screen to your content.

💡Give the screen a name like "Front Window TV" so you can identify it later.

Go full screen — double-tap Menu (☰) on your remote → Full Screen

Once your content is playing, double-tap the Menu button (☰) on your Fire TV remote and select "Full Screen." This hides the browser address bar so only your content is visible.

💡The Menu button (☰) looks like three horizontal lines. Double-tap it — a single press may not bring up the browser menu in Silk.

Assign a playlist to start displaying content

Once paired, the screen shows in your Screens list. Use the dropdown in that row to assign a playlist. Content goes live on the TV within seconds.

⚠️If the TV gets restarted, you'll need to reopen Silk Browser and navigate back to displayee.online/tv. The TV remembers its pairing — just re-enter your site URL and it reconnects.

Amazon Fire TV Stick

Best for non-Fire TVs — $30–$50

Plug a Fire TV Stick (Basic, 4K, or 4K Max) into the HDMI port of any TV

Plug the Fire TV Stick into your TV's HDMI port

Connect the Fire TV Stick to an HDMI port on your TV. Plug the USB power cable into the stick (use the included adapter or a USB port on the TV if available). Switch your TV input to the correct HDMI channel.

💡Use the remote that came with the stick to complete initial setup if you haven't already. Connect it to your WiFi network.

From the Fire TV home screen, open Silk Browser

Navigate to "Find" → "Search" and type "Silk Browser" if it isn't already installed. It's free. Once installed, open it.

Navigate to displayee.online/tv

Use the on-screen keyboard to go to displayee.online/tv. A 6-digit pairing code will appear on your TV screen.

Enter the code in your Displayee dashboard

On your phone or computer, go to displayee.online/login → Screens → Pair New Screen. Enter the 6-digit code. The TV will immediately switch to your content.

💡Name the screen by its location — "Bar TV", "Front Window", "Menu Board" — so you can manage multiple screens easily.

Use Google Chrome on any computer connected to a TV via HDMI

Connect your computer to the TV via HDMI

Plug an HDMI cable from your computer into the TV. On your TV, switch the input to the correct HDMI port. Your computer screen should mirror or extend to the TV.

💡On Mac: System Settings → Displays. On Windows: Right-click desktop → Display Settings → set to "Extend" or "Duplicate."

Open Google Chrome and go to displayee.online/tv

Open Chrome and type displayee.online/tv in the address bar. A 6-digit pairing code will appear.

Enter the code in your Displayee dashboard

On another device or tab, go to displayee.online/login → Screens → Pair New Screen → enter the code. The TV immediately shows your content.

Put Chrome in full-screen kiosk mode

Press F11 (Windows) or Cmd+Shift+F (Mac) to go full screen. This hides the address bar and taskbar so the TV only shows your content.

💡For a permanent kiosk setup on Windows, create a Chrome shortcut with the target: chrome.exe --kiosk --noerrdialogs "https://displayee.online/player/YOUR-DEVICE-ID"

FAQ

Common questions

Can Silk Browser go full screen?

Yes. Once your content is playing, double-tap the Menu button (☰) on your Fire TV remote and select "Full Screen." The address bar hides completely and your signage fills the entire TV. This is how all signage should be displayed.

The TV went offline after a power cut — what do I do?

The TV just needs to reopen Silk Browser and navigate back to displayee.online/tv. It will reconnect to its existing pairing automatically using the stored device ID. No need to re-enter a pairing code.

Can I show the same playlist on multiple TVs?

Yes. Pair each TV separately (each gets its own pairing code and device entry). Then assign the same playlist to all of them from your Screens page.

How do I update what's showing on the TV?

Just change the playlist in your dashboard (Playlists → edit → save). The TV updates within seconds via Supabase Realtime push — no need to touch the TV.

How do I show my restaurant menu on the TV?

Add a "Live Menu Board" item to your playlist. If you use Boom Online Ordering, your menu syncs automatically — price changes update the TV within seconds. Or add your menu page URL as a Web URL slide.

The code expired before I could enter it

Refresh the displayee.online/tv page on the TV — a new code appears immediately. Codes expire after 15 minutes for security.

Can I use a non-Fire TV (Samsung, LG, Sony)?

Yes — use a Fire TV Stick ($30) plugged into the HDMI port of any TV. Or connect a laptop/PC via HDMI and run Chrome. Any screen with a browser works.
