Built-in Fire TV

Most Common โ€” $0 extra hardware

Your TV is already a Fire TV (Toshiba, Insignia, Hisense, Pioneer, Amazon Fire TV Edition)

1
Find Silk Browser on your Fire TV home screen
Silk Browser comes pre-installed on every Fire TV. Use your remote to navigate to it โ€” it's usually in the app row or under "Your Apps & Channels."
๐Ÿ’กCan't find Silk? Press the Home button โ†’ scroll right to "Your Apps & Channels" โ†’ find Silk Browser.
2
Open Silk Browser and go to displayee.online/tv
Use the on-screen keyboard to type the URL. A screen will appear showing a large 6-digit pairing code โ€” this is unique to your TV.
๐Ÿ’กThe code expires in 15 minutes. If it expires, just refresh the page to get a new one.
3
In your Displayee dashboard, go to Screens โ†’ Pair New Screen
Log in at displayee.online/login on your phone or computer. Click "Screens" in the sidebar, then click the purple "Pair New Screen" button.
4
Enter the 6-digit code shown on your TV
Type the 6-digit code from the TV into the pairing modal. Click "Pair Screen." The TV will automatically switch from the code screen to your content.
๐Ÿ’กGive the screen a name like "Front Window TV" so you can identify it later.
5
Go full screen โ€” double-tap Menu (โ˜ฐ) on your remote โ†’ Full Screen
Once your content is playing, double-tap the Menu button (โ˜ฐ) on your Fire TV remote and select "Full Screen." This hides the browser address bar so only your content is visible.
๐Ÿ’กThe Menu button (โ˜ฐ) looks like three horizontal lines. Double-tap it โ€” a single press may not bring up the browser menu in Silk.
6
Assign a playlist to start displaying content
Once paired, the screen shows in your Screens list. Use the dropdown in that row to assign a playlist. Content goes live on the TV within seconds.
๐ŸŒ™ Disable Screen Sleep
  1. Press the Home button โ†’ go to Settings (gear icon)
  2. Select Display & Sounds โ†’ Display
  3. Set Sleep to "Never" (or the longest available option)
Fire TVs also have a screen saver that activates after inactivity. To disable it: Settings โ†’ Preferences โ†’ Screensaver โ†’ Start Time โ†’ set to the longest time or Never.
โš ๏ธIf the TV gets restarted, you'll need to reopen Silk Browser and navigate back to displayee.online/tv. The TV remembers its pairing โ€” just re-enter your site URL and it reconnects.
๐Ÿ”Œ

Amazon Fire TV Stick

Best for non-Fire TVs โ€” $30โ€“$50

Plug a Fire TV Stick (Basic, 4K, or 4K Max) into the HDMI port of any TV

1
Plug the Fire TV Stick into your TV's HDMI port
Connect the Fire TV Stick to an HDMI port on your TV. Plug the USB power cable into the stick (use the included adapter or a USB port on the TV if available). Switch your TV input to the correct HDMI channel.
๐Ÿ’กUse the remote that came with the stick to complete initial setup if you haven't already. Connect it to your WiFi network.
2
From the Fire TV home screen, open Silk Browser
Navigate to "Find" โ†’ "Search" and type "Silk Browser" if it isn't already installed. It's free. Once installed, open it.
3
Navigate to displayee.online/tv
Use the on-screen keyboard to go to displayee.online/tv. A 6-digit pairing code will appear on your TV screen.
4
Enter the code in your Displayee dashboard
On your phone or computer, go to displayee.online/login โ†’ Screens โ†’ Pair New Screen. Enter the 6-digit code. The TV will immediately switch to your content.
5
Go full screen โ€” double-tap Menu (โ˜ฐ) on remote โ†’ Full Screen
Once your content is showing, double-tap the Menu button (โ˜ฐ) on the Fire TV Stick remote and select "Full Screen." The address bar disappears and your signage fills the entire screen.
๐Ÿ’กThe Menu button (โ˜ฐ) is the three-line button on your Fire TV remote. Double-tap it โ€” a single press may not trigger the browser menu.
6
Assign a playlist and you're live
Select a playlist for this screen in the dropdown. Content starts playing within seconds.
๐Ÿ’กName the screen by its location โ€” "Bar TV", "Front Window", "Menu Board" โ€” so you can manage multiple screens easily.
๐ŸŒ™ Disable Screen Sleep
  1. Press the Home button โ†’ go to Settings (gear icon)
  2. Select Display & Sounds โ†’ Display
  3. Set Sleep to "Never"
  4. Also go to Settings โ†’ Preferences โ†’ Screensaver โ†’ Start Time โ†’ set to "Never"
โš ๏ธWant the screen to auto-start without opening Silk manually after every power cycle? Install Fully Kiosk Browser APK (free tier) via the Downloader app. It launches Displayee automatically on boot and locks the screen.
๐Ÿ“บ

LG Smart TV

No extra hardware needed

LG TVs running webOS 4.0 or later (2019+). The built-in Web Browser app supports Displayee natively.

1
Open the Web Browser app on your LG TV
Press the Home button on your LG Magic Remote. Scroll to the "Apps" section and look for the Web Browser app. If it's not visible, go to LG Content Store and search "Web Browser" to install it.
๐Ÿ’กLG TVs from 2019+ (webOS 4.0+) have a Chromium-based browser that works perfectly. Older models (2018 and earlier) may have limited compatibility โ€” a Fire TV Stick is the safer choice for those.
2
Navigate to displayee.online/tv
Click the address bar at the top of the browser and use the on-screen keyboard to type the URL. Press Enter. A 6-digit pairing code will appear on screen.
๐Ÿ’กLG's Magic Remote has a pointer โ€” move it like a mouse to click the address bar.
3
Enter the code in your Displayee dashboard
On your phone or computer, go to Screens โ†’ Pair New Screen. Enter the 6-digit code. Your TV will switch to your content immediately.
4
Go full screen
On the LG Magic Remote, press the Settings wheel button (โš™) while in the browser. Select "Full Screen" from the browser menu. Alternatively, look for the full-screen icon in the browser toolbar. The address bar will hide and your signage fills the screen.
๐Ÿ’กOn older LG remotes (non-Magic), press the red colored button on the remote โ€” this often triggers the browser's full-screen option. If that doesn't work, look for an expand icon in the browser's top-right corner.
5
Assign a playlist and go live
Select a playlist for this screen from your Screens dashboard. Content starts playing within seconds.
๐ŸŒ™ Disable Screen Sleep
  1. Press the Settings button (โš™) on the remote โ†’ All Settings
  2. Go to General โ†’ Timers
  3. Set "Auto Off" to Off (or the maximum time)
  4. Also go to General โ†’ Energy Saving โ†’ set to Off or Minimum
  5. Go back to General โ†’ Screen Saver โ†’ set Start Time to Off
On some LG models the path is: Settings โ†’ Picture โ†’ Energy Saving โ†’ Off. Also check Settings โ†’ General โ†’ Quick Start+ and enable it so the TV reconnects to the browser faster after being turned on.
โš ๏ธLG webOS 3.x (2017โ€“2018 TVs) uses an older browser engine. If your content doesn't display correctly, plug a Fire TV Stick ($30) into the LG's HDMI port and use that browser instead โ€” it gives a much better experience.
๐Ÿ“บ

Samsung Smart TV

No extra hardware needed

Samsung TVs running Tizen 4.0 or later (2018+). Use the built-in Internet app.

1
Open the Internet app on your Samsung TV
Press the Home button on your Samsung remote. Scroll through your app list and open the "Internet" app. If you don't see it, press the Search icon and type "Internet" to find and install it.
๐Ÿ’กSamsung's Internet app is Tizen-based and works well on 2018+ models. For older Samsung TVs, use a Fire TV Stick for the most reliable experience.
2
Navigate to displayee.online/tv
Click the address bar at the top and use the on-screen keyboard to type the URL. A 6-digit pairing code will appear.
3
Enter the code in your Displayee dashboard
On your phone or computer, go to Screens โ†’ Pair New Screen. Enter the 6-digit code. Your TV will immediately switch to displaying your content.
4
Go full screen
On your Samsung remote, press the colored button (blue โ—ผ or the Tools/Settings button) while in the Internet app. Select "Full Screen" or "View Full Screen" from the options that appear.
๐Ÿ’กOn newer Samsung remotes, look for a browser menu icon (โ‹ฎ) in the app toolbar. Tap it and select "Full Screen." On Samsung Smart TVs with a touchpad remote, a long press often brings up browser options.
5
Assign a playlist and go live
Select a playlist for this screen from your Screens dashboard. Your content will start playing immediately.
๐ŸŒ™ Disable Screen Sleep
  1. Press the Home button โ†’ Settings (gear icon) โ†’ General
  2. Go to System Manager โ†’ Time โ†’ Off Timer โ†’ set to Off
  3. Also go to General โ†’ Power and Energy Saving โ†’ turn all options to Off or Minimum
  4. For screen saver: Settings โ†’ General โ†’ Screensaver โ†’ set to Off
Samsung TVs also have an 'Eco Solution' or 'Energy Saving Mode' that can dim or turn off the screen after a period of inactivity. Find it under Settings โ†’ General โ†’ Power and Energy Saving โ†’ Energy Saving Mode โ†’ Off.
โš ๏ธSamsung's Internet app can occasionally crash or lose the browser session after the TV is put into standby mode. For a more reliable commercial setup, a Fire TV Stick in the HDMI port gives consistent uptime and auto-restart options.
๐Ÿ“บ

Sony / Android TV / Google TV

Best browser compatibility โ€” Chrome available

Sony Bravia TVs, NVIDIA Shield, and any TV running Android TV or Google TV (2017+)

1
Install Google Chrome from the Play Store
Press the Home button โ†’ open the Play Store (or Google Play) โ†’ search "Chrome" โ†’ install. Chrome gives the best Displayee experience on Android TV. If Chrome isn't available, use the built-in browser instead.
๐Ÿ’กOn Google TV (newer Sony models), swipe up to find the Play Store. On older Android TV, it's on the home screen.
2
Open Chrome and navigate to displayee.online/tv
Use the on-screen keyboard or a USB/Bluetooth keyboard to type the URL. A 6-digit pairing code will appear.
3
Enter the code in your Displayee dashboard
On your phone or computer, go to Screens โ†’ Pair New Screen. Enter the 6-digit code. The TV immediately switches to your content.
4
Go full screen in Chrome
With a remote: press the Menu button (โ‹ฎ) in Chrome โ†’ Fullscreen. With a keyboard: press F11. The address bar disappears and your content fills the screen.
๐Ÿ’กFor a permanent kiosk setup, connect a USB keyboard and set Chrome to launch in kiosk mode on startup.
5
Assign a playlist and go live
Select a playlist from your Screens dashboard. Content starts displaying immediately.
๐ŸŒ™ Disable Screen Sleep
  1. Press the Home button โ†’ Settings (gear icon) โ†’ Device Preferences
  2. Go to Screen Saver โ†’ set to "Never" or the longest available time
  3. Go back to Device Preferences โ†’ Sleep โ†’ set to "Never"
  4. Also check Settings โ†’ Power โ†’ Auto Off โ†’ Off
On newer Sony Google TV models: Settings โ†’ System โ†’ Power โ†’ Auto Sleep โ†’ Off. Also check Settings โ†’ Display & Sound โ†’ Screen Saver โ†’ Off.
โš ๏ธSony Android TVs handle Chrome very well โ€” they're one of the most reliable platforms for Displayee besides Fire TV. If your Sony TV doesn't have the Play Store, connect a Fire TV Stick or Chromecast to the HDMI port instead.
๐Ÿ“บ

Vizio SmartCast TV

Use Fire TV Stick for best results

Vizio TVs with SmartCast (2016+). Use the built-in WatchFree browser or pair via a connected device.

1
Option A โ€” Use a Fire TV Stick (recommended)
Plug a Fire TV Stick ($30โ€“$50) into one of the Vizio's HDMI ports. Switch input to that HDMI. This gives you Chrome and a reliable browser experience regardless of the Vizio model.
๐Ÿ’กThis is the recommended path. Vizio's built-in browser varies a lot by model and year โ€” Fire TV Stick gives consistent results.
2
Option B โ€” Use Vizio's built-in browser (2019+ models)
Press the V button or Home on your Vizio remote โ†’ scroll to "Internet Apps" or "WatchFree+" โ†’ look for a browser or web app. Navigate to displayee.online/tv.
๐Ÿ’กNot all Vizio models have a built-in web browser. If yours doesn't, a Fire TV Stick is your best option.
3
Enter the pairing code in your dashboard
On your phone or computer, go to Screens โ†’ Pair New Screen. Enter the 6-digit code shown on the TV.
4
Go full screen
If using the built-in browser, look for a full-screen icon in the browser toolbar. If using a Fire TV Stick, double-tap the Menu (โ˜ฐ) button on the Fire TV remote โ†’ Full Screen.
๐ŸŒ™ Disable Screen Sleep
  1. Press the Menu button on the Vizio remote โ†’ System โ†’ Power Mode
  2. Set "Sleep Timer" to Off
  3. Also check Menu โ†’ System โ†’ Screen Mute โ†’ Off
  4. For newer Vizio: Settings โ†’ System โ†’ Power Saving โ†’ Off
โš ๏ธFor reliable commercial signage on a Vizio TV, we strongly recommend a Fire TV Stick in the HDMI port. Vizio's built-in SmartCast platform is designed for streaming apps, not browser-based kiosk use.
๐Ÿ“บ

Roku TV / Roku Stick

Limited browser โ€” Fire TV Stick recommended

Roku TVs (TCL, Hisense Roku, etc.) and Roku streaming sticks. Use the built-in browser channel.

1
Recommended: plug a Fire TV Stick into the HDMI port
Roku's built-in browser ("Web Browser" channel) is limited and may not reliably support Displayee's real-time features. For a commercial signage setup, plugging a Fire TV Stick ($30โ€“$50) into an HDMI port on your Roku TV gives a much more reliable experience.
๐Ÿ’กSwitch the TV input to the HDMI port with the Fire TV Stick. All Fire TV Stick setup steps apply.
2
To try Roku's built-in browser: find the "Web Browser" channel
Press the Home button โ†’ Streaming Channels โ†’ Search โ†’ "Web Browser". Install the free Web Browser channel by Vewd or similar. Open it and navigate to displayee.online/tv.
๐Ÿ’กRoku's browser has limited JavaScript and WebSocket support. The clock and ticker widgets should work; the menu board's real-time sync may not work reliably.
3
Enter the pairing code in your dashboard
Go to Screens โ†’ Pair New Screen on your phone or computer and enter the 6-digit code.
4
Full screen on Roku
In the Roku Web Browser, press the * (asterisk/Options) button on the Roku remote to access browser settings and look for a full-screen option.
๐ŸŒ™ Disable Screen Sleep
  1. Press the Home button โ†’ Settings โ†’ System โ†’ Power
  2. Set "Auto Power Off" to Off
  3. Set "Network Access" to Full to keep the TV connected when idle
โš ๏ธRoku is primarily a streaming platform, not designed for browser-based kiosk apps. For reliable digital signage, we recommend a $30 Fire TV Stick plugged into any HDMI port on your Roku TV โ€” it runs Displayee perfectly.
๐Ÿ’ป

PC, Mac, or Chromebook

Works on any computer โ€” $0 extra

Use Google Chrome on any computer connected to a TV via HDMI

1
Connect your computer to the TV via HDMI
Plug an HDMI cable from your computer into the TV. On your TV, switch the input to the correct HDMI port. Your computer screen should mirror or extend to the TV.
๐Ÿ’กOn Mac: System Settings โ†’ Displays. On Windows: Right-click desktop โ†’ Display Settings โ†’ set to "Extend" or "Duplicate."
2

Open Chrome and type displayee.online/tv in the address bar. A 6-digit pairing code will appear.

5
Assign a playlist and go live
Select a playlist for this screen in your dashboard. Content starts playing on the TV instantly.
๐ŸŒ™ Disable Screen Sleep

  2. Mac: System Settings โ†’ Displays โ†’ Advanced โ†’ Prevent automatic sleeping when display is off โ†’ enable
  3. Mac alternative: System Settings โ†’ Battery (or Energy Saver) โ†’ Turn display off after โ†’ Never
  4. Chromebook: Settings โ†’ Device โ†’ Power โ†’ Sleep when idle โ†’ Off
On Windows, also check Settings โ†’ Personalization โ†’ Lock Screen โ†’ Screen Timeout and set it to Never. For headless (no keyboard/mouse) setups, use a tool like Caffeine (Windows) or Amphetamine (Mac) to prevent sleep.
Chrome Kiosk Mode Command (Advanced)
# Windows (run from Command Prompt)
chrome.exe --kiosk --noerrdialogs --disable-infobars
  "https://displayee.online/player/YOUR-DEVICE-ID"

# Mac (run from Terminal)
open -a "Google Chrome" --args --kiosk --noerrdialogs
  "https://displayee.online/player/YOUR-DEVICE-ID"

Replace YOUR-DEVICE-ID with the device ID shown in your Screens dashboard.

Can Silk Browser go full screen?
Yes. Once your content is playing, double-tap the Menu button (โ˜ฐ) on your Fire TV remote and select "Full Screen." The address bar hides completely and your signage fills the entire TV. This is how all signage should be displayed.
The TV went offline after a power cut โ€” what do I do?
The TV just needs to reopen the browser and navigate back to displayee.online/tv. It will reconnect to its existing pairing automatically using the stored device ID. No need to re-enter a pairing code.
Can I show the same playlist on multiple TVs?
Yes. Pair each TV separately (each gets its own pairing code and device entry). Then assign the same playlist to all of them from your Screens page.
How do I update what's showing on the TV?
Just change the playlist in your dashboard (Playlists โ†’ edit โ†’ save). The TV updates within seconds via real-time push โ€” no need to touch the TV.

Why does the TV show the address bar?
You need to go full screen in the browser. See the "How do I go full screen?" answer above for your specific device. Full screen hides the address bar and taskbar so only your content is visible.
